2016 Toledo Walleye Opener

With one of the most electric game-day atmospheres in minor league hockey, the Toledo Walleye set out to add to the excitement of the moment just before puck drop. They challenged Madhouse to create a film that would add to the anticipation, match the intensity of the crowd, and build energy as the team prepares to take the ice.

Madhouse responded with a bold and ambitious concept that reimagines downtown Toledo as an extension of the game itself. Streets freeze over, players skate through the city toward the Huntington Center, and larger-than-life walleye burst through the environment. Combining live-action footage with visual effects, the film delivers an experience that builds excitement and unites the crowd before the first puck drops.
